Party season has begun

Following the Sunday, December 10th class we had the first of many Meiryukan End of the year/Christmas parties.

The Sakado club has been around for many years and went through a few different instructors throughout that time.

Last April, some unfortunate problems occurred with the previous teacher, leaving them instructor-less.

They joined up with Meiryukan in May, and I have been going and teaching every Sunday since.

Naturally there are differences in teachers as well as the over all Meiryukan structure, but slowly things have been smoothing out and the new, but fresh atmosphere is starting to shine through.

Up until the schedule changes in December, Sundays have been busy. I taught 2 classes in the morning, then came to Sakado for 2 more, then rushed off to Fukiage for a couple more in the evening.

With such a tight schedule I hadn't much time to communicate with the Sakado students off the mats.

This years Christmas party was my first good chance to sit down and get to know everyone a little better. All but 3 members made it out to the party. 16 of us in total. 3 hours of fun - Bingo tournament, Roast Chicken, Magic show, Karaoke and more.

Thanks to Morita kaicho, Morohashi-san and all the other members for helping out with the party preparations.

Thanks to all the Sakado members, visitors and families for the last half year. I look forward to 2018!
