Guests from Australia

Today at the Meiryukan Noda Wednesday class we were lucky to have some special guests from Australia`s Shudokan dojo. Alia Sensei and her boys, Esteban and Miro came to Japan for the kids aikido tournament that was held on the 11th. Since then, they have been busy travelling around Japan, enjoying all it has to offer. 

The Noda kids, as well as their Mothers, were pleasantly surprised to have some visitors come to our regular training. It was their 2nd last day and after a full morning visiting the Sumo hall in Tokyo, they rushed out here (more than an hour on the train) to join us for just a couple regular classes.

 Our test training has started, so went through some basic techniques. But at the end of the class we also did some jiyuwaza. Both Esteban and Miro have been training for many years, and are quite talented with a nice variety of jiyuwaza. It was a good experience for the Japanese to mix it up with some new people doing some techniques they weren`t used to.

At first everyone was a bit shy, but by the end of the class, everyone was trying their best to communicate in a mix of both languages. Thanks for making the time to come and see us at Aikido Meiryukan. We hope to meet again. Osu!

Sakado visitors

A full dojo at Meiryukan Sakado last Sunday.
Visitors from Fukiage, Kazo and Konosu culture.

During the kids class we ran through all the basic techniques from 7th kyu to 1st, then into some shodan waza and jiyuwaza.

The adults worked on chest grasp techniques.
We did mune mochi ikkajo osae ichi, mune mochi nikajo osae ichi, mune mochi sokumen iriminage ichi (tachi waza / suwari waza)

The knee movements as well as uke in the suwariwaza sokumen iriminage are a bit tough.
But by the end of the class everyone pretty much had the basic points down.

Spring tests approaching fast

The kids tournament is over and we are right in to test training. Spring tests will be held all thoughout March. Check with your instructor or branch manager for exact dates and locations.

3rd kyu and above will be on Saturday, March 16th and Sunday the 17th in Urayasu. Have your applications in 2 weeks ahead of your intended test date.

Note: The September Kasukabe Budokan 3rd kyu and above test with Ando Sensei will from now on be held in June. More info to come!

第15回ジュニア合気道記念大会

2月11日(月・祝)に浦安市運動公園総合体育館にて第15回ジュニア合気道記念大会が開催されました。
今回はロシア・ウクライナ・イギリス・オーストラリア・アルゼンチンから58名の参加を含め約450名の参加。明龍館からは58名の参加となりました。

この日のために練習に励んできた少年部の子供達。本当にみんな頑張りました。
大きなミスなく全体的にレベルが上がっていたと思います。
思うような結果が出せなかった子もたくさんいると思いますが、これを機にさらにレベルアップして来年は優勝目指しましょう！！

明龍館からは4名の入賞となりました。
・高学年飛龍の部第2位　Y.Nさん(さいたま同好会)
・高学年昇龍の部第2位　Y.Tさん (春日部同好会)
・幼年部飛龍の部第3位   H.Dさん(春日部同好会)

寒稽古2019

新年明けて、鏡開きから間を開けずに寒稽古！
懸念されていた、猛威を振るっていたインフルエンザでの欠席も少なく、予定していた通りに無事寒稽古を終えられることができました。 参加頂いた皆さま方ありがとうございました！

ありがとうございました！

今年の寒稽古は、すぐにジュニア合気道記念大会が控えていたので、少年部は午前中ひたすらに受身を練習する猛特訓！

指導者として、子供達を見ていましたが、これは大人がやっていたらギブアップ続出してたかも、、、

それでも頑張った少年部の皆さん、大会ガンバレ！

一般部は、浦安から龍の方々と、カナダからケンさんが参加してくれて、ジム先生が笑顔で指導されていました。

今回も多くの皆勤者とともに集合写真が撮れました。

5時間の稽古お疲れ様でした。

また、次の機会は暑中稽古ですね。

Sakado 2/3

Only just in to the first week of February and already Spring like weather. Today at Meiryukan Sakado we worked on pivoting movements - keeping your center line straight and strong while relaxing your front knee while turning. The techniques were shomen uchi yonkajo osae ni(tachi waza, suwari waza), shomen uchi shomen iriminage. We had alot fun with the initial entering part of iriminage. Getting the distance, timing and rotation of the hips working together. More to come next week. Visitors always welcome!

 

春日部同好会1/26(土)クラス

寒い続きますね～
春日部同好会少年部は寒さに負けずジュニア大会に向けて元気に頑張っています！！
受け身も皆よくなっています😊

 

 

ジュニア大会まであと僅か。声を出して元気に頑張りましょう！！

一般部は他団体の黒帯の方が出稽古にきてくださったので昇段技から昇級技まで幅広く技を行うことができました。

 

 

来週土曜日は寒稽古になりますので、春日部同好会の稽古はありません。

寒稽古に参加される方は時間をお間違いないようご注意ください。

1/29 Noda

Last night at Noda, the kids were training hard for the upcoming tournament. Ukemi is looking good, techniques are getting quicker and sharper. 2 weeks to go!

Adults worked on ushiro waza ryote mochi ikkajo osae ni, suwariwaza kata mochi ikkajo osae ni, katate mochi kokyunage, katate mochi kaitennage.

Sundays Kazo and Sakado clubs

Today at Meiryukan Kazo the adult class worked on shodan techniques.

We did kata mochi sankajo osae ni (both standing and sitting) as well as katate mochi hijiate kokyunage ichi and katate mochi shomen iriminage.

The changing of the hands in sankajo and the breaking of the grip in both hijiate and shomen iriminage are a bit tricky.

The Sakado kids continued tournament training.

Their ukemi is getting better. Big front rolls and high jumping breakfalls. The techniques are coming along as well. The next few weeks we will focus on more speed and power.


Both the Kazo and Sakado clubs had new members join this week. Welcome to the Meiryukan family!

鏡開き2019!

遅くなりました！

1/12に行われた鏡開き式
100名以上参加され、盛大に執り行うことが出来ました。

今年も奉納演武の幼年部、少年部みんなで新年のご挨拶はやっぱりかわいい！！！

けれども、参加演武の都合で撮影出来ず、、、無念！

でもそれだけじゃないですね。
新年は新しいことを始めるきっかけにもなります。
今年は少年部でも武器を使った演武に参加する子がいました。

演武のあとは「お汁粉会」
毎年お父さん、お母さんがお手伝いいただき、お餅を作るところからやってくださっています。
おかげで温かくて、美味しいお汁粉でした！
ありがとうございました。

お汁粉会が終わったら、少年部はジュニア合気道大会へ向けて強化稽古！
今年の大会はなんと外国の子供達も参加する初のワールドチャンピオンシップとのこと！
たくさんの子供達が参加するので、今よりもさらに上を目指さないと、すぐに負けてしまいます！
寒いけれど頑張って稽古に励んでください。

ジュニア大会は受身の審査があります。
しっかりまっすぐ、そして後ろ足をピンっと伸ばして「カッコよく」←ここ大事！
