3月も終盤、桜の花も咲き始めました。

土手の菜の花もきれいです。

少年部はお休み中。

みんな、元気にしてるかな？

一般部は感染対策をしっかり行いながら稽古に励んでおります。

前半は、剣を使って「気結びの剣(剣操法)」を相対で行いました。

来週は、加須同好会一般部、春の審査を行います。

Meiryukan Kasukabe 3/7

Last Saturday Meiryukan Kasukabe had visitors from Saitama, Noda Tuesday, Noda Saturday, Nagareyama and Ryu Shunpukan.

Since the kids classes have been cancelled until the 15th, we used the extra hour for another adult class.

First class was basics - all 6 kihon dosa broken down and just 2 techniques - kata mochi nikajo osae ichi and suwari waza kata mochi sokumen iriminage ichi

The second class we ran through the 6 basics with partner then worked on back breakfalls and some flowing throwing techniques - ryote mochi sokmen iriminage, and shomen uchi shomen iriminage

The last 15 mintues or so was test training.

With all the temporary dojo closures the training schedule has been a mess. But everyone getting to train with some unfamiliar faces is a small plus under the unfortunate circumstatnces.

3月の少年部は休校、及び施設からの要請で利用不可のため、１ヶ月稽古をお休みといたします。


長期間の自宅待機および自宅学習など、体がなまってしまいますよね。
そんな時は合気道❗
おススメは「基本動作連続」です。
毎日の日課にした子は、稽古再開した時にはきっと誰よりもうまくなってると思いますよ～。


一般部は変わらず行いますが、3/8、22のふじアリーナでの稽古時間は10:30～11:30に変更となります。
また、3/15（日）はお休みで、3/14（土）となっておりますので、お間違えのないようお願いいたします。

Check the HP for class changes and cancellations

Due to the Corona Virus problem classes have been cut. No kids classes anywhere until the 15th (could get extended).

However, some of the adult classes are still up and going at any of the facilities that are still open through this. Check the Meiryukan HP schedule before showing up. Things could change.

The last class until April since the dojo has been shut down till the 31st.



To the right is the Wednesday Omiya class. Another dojo that will be closed for the next couple of weeks. However we will continue to train Wednesday mornings at the Kasukabe Budokan. Visitors always welcome!

To the left is Nagareyama. One of the few Aikido Meiryukan clubs that are still running as usual. Note the visitors from the closed down Noda club.

As for Spring tests, who knows... probably pushed into April. Keep an eye on the Blog and HP for news and updates.

2/22(土)春日部同好会

今年も始まってあっという間に2ヶ月が過ぎようとしています。
鏡開き、寒稽古、ジュニア大会と今年も大忙しですね！
そんなこんなで来月はもう春の審査です。
イベントが立て続きだったのでなかなか審査に向けての稽古ができませんでしたね。
急いで技を覚えるだけではなく、しっかりと身につけるように頑張りましょう！！

2/22は少年部に2名の体験者が来てくれました。GくんとTくんの小学生の兄弟2名です。
元気一杯の男の子、春日部同好会に活気が出ます♪
体位の変更(二)で回転動作を練習して、正面打ち一ヶ条抑え(二)にチャレンジしました。
楽しそうにやってくれるので、こちらも嬉しいです。
2名とも3月から入会してくれることになりました♪♪♪
どうぞこれからよろしくお願いします。

一般部は審査稽古です。この日は二ツ塚道場のSさんが出稽古にいらしてくれました。
春日部同好会は白帯メンバーなので、黒帯の方がくるとすこし緊張感が出ますね(^^)
また是非お待ちしています。

第16回ジュニア合気道大会

2月11日(火・祝)浦安市総合体育館にて第16回ジュニア合気道大会が行われました。
ロシア・ウクライナ・オーストラリアの海外から約70名の参加もあり、総勢約450名の参加。
その中で明龍館少年部、なっなんと、5部門で9名が入賞しましたぁ！！！！！！！
すごいっ！！快挙です！！

今回残念ながら入賞できなかった子達もみんな素晴らしかったです。ジュニア大会の稽古を本格的に行ったのは1月の鏡開き式が終わった後。僅かな練習期間でよく頑張りました。
日頃の稽古をしっかりとやって基礎がしっかりしていたからだと思います。
悔しい思いをした子は来年リベンジしましょう！！
私達もしっかりサポートしていきたいと思います。

子供達頑張りました！！大人も負けずに頑張って行きましょう！！

Ekaterinburg, Russia seminar

From January the 23rd to the 28th I was in Ekaterinburg, Russia under the invitation of Mikhail Poleshko sensei from the Ryuwakan Dojo. This was my third time to Ekaterinburg. First in 2011, then again in 2013. Every time in mid Winter, and as always, it was cold. Everyday was anywhere from -5 to -25 degrees. However, the locals said I was lucky because this year was warm!

Ekaterinburg has changed a lot in the past few years due to hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Many new big buildings, shopping centers, restaurants and shops. More tourist friendly than my last visit.
 

On Thursday, after an interesting visit to the museum of the first Russian President, Boris Yeltsin I then went as a guest to a Japanese culture / language school. As expected the students were a bit surprised to see the special guest from Japan was a Canadian. Nevertheless, we had fun sharing views on Japan from our foreign perspective.

From Friday to Sunday was training. About 25 to 30 kids and 35 to 40 adults. 15 classes throughout the 3 day seminar. We went thoroughly through all the 6 kihon dosa and related basic techniques. Worked up a sweat with ukemi and jiyu-waza, worked on the principles behind multiple person attack and had some fun with a bit of goshin-waza.
 

All the classes were a mix of big and small, flexible and stiff, complete beginner and long time black belt. However, everyone tried their best to work well together. No egos, just helpful technical feedback from both seniors and juniors showing true Aiki harmony.

On Monday morning 4 people tested. 2 for 1st dan, 1 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. Overall the basics were strong, just need a little more time remembering the details of the many techniques required for shodan and yudan.
 

Mikhail sensei and wife, Anastasia were marvelous hosts. The students, friends and families warm and welcoming. Thanks again to all for their support throughout the 5 days. I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Meiryukan Winter training

Aikido Meiryukan held its 4th annual Winter training on Saturday, February the 1st at the Kasukabe City Budokan. The 1st class began at 9:30am and the last finished at 4pm. Almost 100 people, kids and adults, showed up throughout the day. 44 of them for all 5 classes!

The weather was great and the energy outstanding. Before we knew it the day was over. Thanks to all the Meiryukan instructors for their help. With the kids tournament just a few days away, we had to split them all up in to their specific groups to concentrate on the set techniques.

Concentrate, being the key word...5 hours is long even for adults. 7 and 8 years old staying focused for a full day of aikido is the real challenge of Meiryukan Kangeiko. Keeping them enthusiastic is our goal as instructors. For the most part, mission accomplished! Best of luck on the 11th.

第4回明龍館寒稽古

2月1日(土)春日部市民武道館にて明龍館寒稽古が行われました。

明龍館の同好会は流山から坂戸まで距離が離れていることもあり、会員が連日での稽古参加は難しいため、寒稽古・暑中稽古は毎年1日で5時間稽古を行うことにしています。
1日で5時間稽古ができるということで、稽古熱心な他団体の方達もご参加いただき、インフルエンザ等の病欠で予定より人数は少なくなりましたが、参加者87名。1クラス目より5クラス目まで5時間すべて参加した皆勤者は44名となりました。

幼少年部は2月11日(火)に浦安市総合運動公園で行われる第１６回ジュニア合気道大会に向けての稽古を行い、一般部は１クラス目から４クラス目までは一ヶ条から呼吸法の基本技を、そして５クラス目は投げ技、自由技、護身技を行いました。

今年は暖冬により「寒さに打ち勝つぞ！！」ということにはなりませんでしたが、参加者の約半数が５時間という長い稽古を最後まで集中して取り組みました。
