Special senior trial class 11/27

On Saturday, November 27th in Kasukabe there was a special trial lesson for members over 60. This class was taught by Kazo`s branch manager Inoue sensei. In the general classes the pace is pretty fast, usually after running through kihon dosa and ukemi, we do about 3 to 4 techniques, then finish off with shumatsu dosa. Sometimes hard to keep up, and not much time to really focus on details.
However, in this special class, the whole 1 hour was on suriashi. Of course we also stress the importance in the general class, but within a few minutes people have already forgotten and are tied up with other details. With suriashi in mind, they worked on the initial movement of tai no henko ichi and a bit of ikkajo osae ichi. Inoue sensei made a point to have everyone change partners and work with everyone in attendance. Learning to feel and adjust to all different body types as well as making new friends.

Following the training  there was a free talk time held in one of the small Japanese style rooms within the sports center. Todays participants came from Meiryukan`s Kasukabe, Noda, Saitama, and Kazo clubs. For most of them it was there first time meeting. Due to not being able to have any events recently, there hasn`t been much bonding off the mats. This was a nice way to sit down in a laid back atmosphere and get to know each other.

Next senior trial lesson will be held in Fukiage at the Cosmos Arena on Saturday, December 18th. Training will be held from 16:45 to 17:45, followed by chat time. Participation is free for all Meiryukan members.
