shomen uchi sankajo osae ichi (tachi, suwari), shomen uchi shomen iriminage ichi, suwari waza yokomen uchi shomen iriminage ni.

Today we practiced kata mochi hijishime ichi, suwari waza shomen uchi sankajo osae ichi, ryote mochi tenchinage ni, shomen uchi jiyui-waza.
Still alot of work to do, but the basics are getting stronger. Let`s keep at it!
shomen uchi yonkajo osae ichi & ni
Don`t squeeze, try to keep your hand flush against your partner`s wrist and always in your center. Use your hip power to get the control, not arm power.
Finished the class with a few variations using 4th control during jiyu-waza.
ryote mochi shihonage ichi & ni, suwari waza ryote mochi kokyu-ho ni, ryote mochi hijiate kokyunage.
For kokyu-ho don`t try to push your partner, and don`t just twist to the side either. The goal isn`t just for your partner to fall over, it`s about training to match with the energy and take their balance through their weak point.
Sunday morning in Kazo, as well as the afternoon Sakado kids class we did some weapon work. A first for some of the students.
happo giri and the connection to kotegaeshi ni、followed with distance and timing practice using kumiken ippon me. Fun class!
For the both wrist grasp techniques the focus was on balancing our power equally through both our arms.
For the one wrist grasp waza we worked on controlling our partners shoulder through their elbow position.
ryote mochi shihonage ichi, suwari waza ryote mochi kokyu-ho ni, ryote mochi kaiten nage, shomen tsuki kaiten nage
Focus was on concentrating power in to both hands (yours and your partners).
Following the usual kids class basics, we went into yokomen uchi sankajo osae ichi, suwari waza shomen uchi sankajo osae ichi
Big movements, strong strikes, and controlled pins.
The junior high/high school class did some hajime geiko shomen uchi sankajo osae ni
On Sunday in Sakado the kids practiced pivoting movements - tai no henko ni, then in to katate mochi sokumen iriminage ni
The main points were to keep your hands in front of your body and weight forward. Bring you partner forward and take their balance.
Again keeping our hands in our center and using our hip movement to enter without pushing our partner back.
