After work keiko?

Friday evening classes at the Aikido Meiryukan Saitama branch have been filling up! The class here at the Kamiokubo junior high school starts at 7:15pm, so bring your dogi to the office and then swing by on the way home! A great way to finish off your work week and get refreshed for the weekend. Visitors always welcome!
 

Meiryukan Kasukabe

The Aikido Meiryukan Kasukabe branch is the central club within Meiryukan. Most of our big events are held here. 

This branch currently has classes on Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15. This class alternates weekly from a regular adult weapon class to a seniors only class.

Twice a month on Thursday afternoon from 5:45pm to 6:45pm we have a joint class for both kids and adults.

Every Saturday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 is the student class, followed by the adult class from 10:30 to 11:30. We then have open training untill 1pm.

The Kasukabe budokan is about a 20 minute walk from the West exit of Kasukabe station, or a 5 minute bus ride. Lots of space for parking too.

Visitors are always welcome!

KAZO 1/19

 ★学生クラス

今日の稽古は、F君に指導の一部を担当してもらって行いました。

後方回転受身、今日のF君ワンポイントアドバイスは、横に出した手を自分の体と90度になるように手を着くです。

終末動作（一）の見本を披露して、全員で終末動作（一）を行いました。

その後、全員で「片手持ち四方投げ（一）」を行いました。

最後に四方投げの形を理解するために、相手と握手してからの四方投げも参考に行いました。

★一般

相対で臂力の養成（一）（二）を行ったあと、「片手持ち二ヶ条抑え（一）」と

「座り技片手持ち二ヶ条抑え（一）」を行いました。

分かれて黒帯は、「肘持ち二ヶ条抑え（一）」の立ち技・座り技を行いました。

白帯は、「正面打ち三ヶ条抑え（二）」を行いました。

最後は相対で終末動作（一）（二）を行いました。

Mid January in Meiryukan

Tai no henko ichi and shomen uchi shomen iriminage ichi during Aikido Meiryukan Saturday Noda class. The 9:15 class is a mixed class of kids and adults and we always run through some basic movements and how they are connected to techniques. Great training for both the kids and adults to try to fit together with such a size and strength difference.

In the 15:10 student class in Fukiage the juniors gave their best working on a new technique - katate mochi shihonage ichi. A lot of movements to remember compared to past kihon dosa. 

The adult class focused on ikkajo - mune mochi ikkajo osae ichi, suwariwaza kata mochi ikkajo osae ichi. Don`t over think things. Simple is best!

On Sunday in Sakado we did a bit of eveything - started with the usual basics, with an emphasis on forward rolls. Keeping our lead hand in our center and hips squared to the front, head tucked in and opposite hand to the side and ready.

Next into basic movements, weapons, kihon waza, and jiyu-waza.

Saitama 1/19

Keeping warm at Aikido Meiryukan Saitama Sunday class. The students class worked on tai no henko ni and ken dori hijiate. Always fun to get our hands on some weapons! Ponits are the same - turn on our toes, back leg straight, strong zanshin.

In the adults class we did some side strike techniques - yokomen uchi yonkajo osae ichi, suwari waza yokomen uchi yonkajo osae ni, yokomen uchi shomen iriminage ichi, yokomen uchi ikkajonage

Block with proper body alignment and posture, not arm strength.

 

寒稽古お知らせ

 

2025年合気道明龍館鏡開き式

明龍館今年初めてのイベント、2025年の明龍館鏡開き式を1月11日(土)春日部市民武道館にて行いました。

幼年部からシニアまでの会員67名の会員と保護者の方を含め約100名の参加となりました。

限られた練習の中、それぞれが一生懸命に取り組んできた成果が出た素晴らしい演武でした。

今回失敗して悔しい思いをした方は、是非来年の目標として頑張っていきましょう！

ジム先生の挨拶にあったように今年は巳年。蛇は脱皮を繰り返し成長することから「復活」と「再生」を連想させます。明龍館は今年で10周年。新しい始まりや変化の年として更に発展できるよう努力して参りたいと思いますので、これからもご支援の程よろしくお願い申し上げます。

鏡開き式の後は恒例のお汁粉会。

今回もたくさんの保護者の方にお手伝いいただきました。皆様に助けていただき今回も無事にお汁粉会を終えることができました。心より感謝しております。毎回バタバタと忙しなくなってしまい申し訳ありません...💦これに懲りず今後ともよろしくお願いいたします。

お汁粉会の後は、一般部向けの講習会。

今回のテーマは「流れ」。考えすぎない・力まない・自然な流れ・芯は保ち外側は柔らかく等...

まずは普段中高生コースが行っている準備運動と受け身から始まり、型稽古ではなく1時間半動きつづけるハードな稽古となりました。

講習会の後は、春日部駅近くの土間土間にて新年会を行い、楽しい時間を過ごしました。

新年会途中では同好会ごとに各自今年の目標を発表。それぞれ目標に向かって頑張っていきましょう！！

Let`s go 2025!

After a full 2 weeks off for the Winter holidays we are now back at it here at Noda Shunpukan dojo. Cold, but not as cold as we expected. A little warm-up and all is well. 

This Saturday we will be holding our Kagami biraki demonstration and this was our last so-called rehearsal. More than technique, attitude! Let`s start 2025 off right!
