The Aikido Meiryukan Noda kids - there are about 30 of them, the biggest group out of all the Meiryukan clubs. 4 year old white belts up to 6th grade 2 dans. Everyone has such unique character, but they all get along so well.
Training is held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and a lot of the students come to both classes. The seniors always help the juniors, both on and off the mat.
Long time member Yu, comes early to help with the Wednesday Shunpukan Dojo kindergarten class. He started when he was only 4 and now after many years of hard training he is now the top of not just Noda, but all Meiryukan clubs.
When the kids graduate from the Wednesday junior class and step up to the senior class, the cleaning duties get passed along to new members while the long timers move on to other things like passing out member cards and putting away chairs, fans etc. The 2 dans and shodans look over the whole operation to make sure things run smooth. Awesome teamwork!
The Tuesday class is the newest of the Noda clubs, it has only been going for just over 2 years. At first there would only be 2 or 3 adult visitors. Slowly but steadily we have gained some students, as well as regular visitors and now it is the only club where adults and kids can train together. Great for families and a nice simple way in for 6 grade graduates looking to continue aikido through junior-high.
Keep an eye on Meiryukan Noda!
