On Saturday morning, due to booking problems, we held the kids and adult Kasukabe classes in Iwatsuki. It was our first time using this facility in over a year. Only a few kids could show up so we played around and had some fun with suwari waza katate aya mochi kotegaeshi as a warm up. Then we broke off in to two groups and worked on shomen uchi kotegaeshi ni, katate mochi kokyunage.
The adults practiced ryote mochi shihonage 1&2, hanmi handachi shihonage - the main focus was on keeping a balanced connection through both hands.
Saturday afternoon was as usual in Fukiage. The kids class practicied throwing techniques - sokumen iriminage 1&2, tenchinage 1&2
The junior high class did kata mochi sankajo osae 2, kokyu ho 3, tenchinage 2( hajime geiko), kokyunage
Adults worked on suwari waza ikkajo 1&2
Focus was on the raising of the hands, the correct shoulder, elbow, wrist etc. Relaxed but strong and stable.
