2024 Aikido Meiryukan Kagami Biraki

1月20日(土)春日部市民武道館にて鏡開き式を行いました。

コロナウィルスにより4年ぶりの開催となるため、今回初めて鏡開きに参加される方も多数いらっしゃいました。

皆、この日のために一生懸命練習した成果がとても出ていました。

100 people from various Aikido Meiryukan clubs came together for our first Kagami biraki in 4 years. 

Meiryukan instructors started things off with an exciting and dynamic display of aikido, followed by an adorable demo from the junior kids. Then we went into the general enbu. Kihon dosa renzoku, kihon waza, chukyu waza, buki waza, and jiyu-waza.

This year each category was lead by a different student, most of which were still in Elementary or Junior-high. This was the first time for all members of each group together. With only a few mins. to rehearse, the leaders planned and arranged everything. They didn`t crack under the pressure, and delivered a practically perfect demonstration. Fantasitc job by all!

Thanks to all the adult members who came early to set up the dojo. This year we had only half of the space to use for the enbu. We thought it might be impossible, however somehow we managed.

鏡開き式の後は、お汁粉会を行いました。

こちらも4年ぶりとなるため準備がバタバタしてしまいましたが、保護者の方々のおかげで無事に終えることができました。本当に感謝しております。

Following the demonstrtion we held our お汁粉会. Thanks to all the parents who helped out in the preparation. 7kg of mochi to be rolled into balls, then dished out with sweet bean soup to 100 people.

A nice warm treat on such a cold January day.
