Sat. and Sun. in Saitama

Saturday morning in the Noda adult class we worked on hiji mochi techniques - hiji mochi nikajo osae 1 (tachi/suwari) and hiji mochi sokumen iriminage 1. The main focus on nikajo was to maintain a balanced posture throughout the technique. For sokumen iriminage we worked on shifting our weight before entering in quickly

In the afternoon Fukiage class we practiced katate mochi nikajo osae 1, suwari waza katate mochi nikajo osae 2, as well as katate mochi kotegaeshi . The theme was to connect all the step by step movements in to a more fluid and dynamic technique without leaving gaps for resistance or escape.

On Sunday morning in Hanyu we started off with sliding forward movements as well as pivoting movements. Then we went in to katate mochi nikajo osae 2, shomen uchi kotegaeshi 2, and finished with nikajo to kotegaeshi renzoku waza
Sunday afternoon in Kawajima, the adults went thoroughly through the 6 basic movements before going in to katate mochi sokumen iriminage 1, ryote mochi sokumen iriminage 1, yokomen uchi shomen iriminage 2, katate mochi shomen iriminage ichi. The points for all these were the same - enter at an angle so you do not collide with their power, strong posture and be positioned to throw.
