4th control and kokyu-ho

Last Saturday in Nagareyama we worked on 4th control.

shomen uchi yonkajo osae ichi & ni

Don`t squeeze, try to keep your hand flush against your partner`s wrist and always in your center. Use your hip power to get the control, not arm power.

Finished the class with a few variations using 4th control during jiyu-waza.

The following day in Sakado we practiced techniques from both wrist grasp.

ryote mochi shihonage ichi & ni, suwari waza ryote mochi kokyu-ho ni, ryote mochi hijiate kokyunage.

For kokyu-ho don`t try to push your partner, and don`t just twist to the side either. The goal isn`t just for your partner to fall over, it`s about training to match with the energy and take their balance through their weak point.
