On Saturday, August the 4th at the Kasukabe Budokan, Aikido Meiryukan held it`s 3rd annual shochu geiko "Summer training".
65 people ranging from kindergarten white belts to adult black belts trained for 5 hours in almost 100 degree F temps.
The first hour was taught by Jim sensei - basic techniques based on ikkajo, and sokumen iriminage
The second class Meiryukan Kazo club representative, Inoue sensei - shihonage, tenchinage
The 3rd class again Jim sensei - nikajo, shomen iriminage
4th class was Saitama club representative, Tabata sensei - sankajo and yonkajo
The 5th and final class by Jim sensei - hijishime, kotegaeshi and kokyuho
Fukiage`s Saito sensei, Kumagaya`s Mikiko sensei and Nagareyama`s Noda daihyo took care of the kids, while Kasukabe instructor Murakami sensei watched the beginners.
We also had 8 gasshuku visitors from Sri Lanka join the training.
27 participants completed all 5 classes and were awarded a 皆勤者kaikinsha certificate, as well as a small gift. An outstanding showing of spirit, concentration and stamina throughout a full day of Yoshinkan basic techniques.
