After a few days off due to the Golden Week holidays, we are back at it here at Aikido Meiryukan.
In the Tuesday evening Noda class we worked on nikajo. Focusing more on using the hand grabbing our partner`s hand, not just the cutting down hand.
On Wednesday the Shunpukan dojo junior class tried their hands at a kids brown belt level technique -
katate mochi hijiate kokyunage niMore important than the actual technique itself is being able to break the grip. We worked on proper wrist movement and using our whole body.
In the Thursday afternoon Kasukabe class we practiced
yonkajo. The advanced kids and adults did
shomen uchi yonkajo osae ichi/ni(tachi/suwari). The main point was the initial cut down of both the #1 and #2 techniques, making sure to take our partner`s balance. If the technique doesn`t start well, it wont end well.
